Research Methodology Course Description.

Subject: Research Methodology

Level: Second Year English for the Basic Education

Instructor: Wafa Ben Salah Jendoubi  

General Course Objectives:

     This course aims to provide students of Second Year English for the Basic Education with essential background in the area of Research Methodology. The main objective of the course is to equip students with basic skills in designing a research study.

Main Intended Outcomes: After the Research Methodology course completion, students will

• be able to set objectives and formulate research questions;

• be familiar with a wide range of research instruments;

• be equipped with the skills to design a research study.

Course Content:

-Introduction to Research Methodology

-Purpose and Objectives of the study

-Structure of the Study

-Introduction Structure: -Objectives of the study and the research question

-Literature review (Reading Sources / Documentation)

-Method of Data Collection: The research instruments (triangulation)                        

-Data Analysis and Discussion

-Recommendations

-Conclusions

-Abstract

-APA referencing system

Course Requirements:

   - Regular attendance. Participation in classroom activities and workshops.   

 

Course Evaluation:

 * Continuous assessment (20%)

 * Participation in classroom activities and workshops.

 - Research and personal work.

 - Personal Presentations.

 * Final Test (80 %)
