Creative Teaching

This micro- teaching course outline is a compilation of detailed information on micro- teaching.

It is meant to guide the students who are preparing to go for their first teaching practice.

Every student is required to teach his/her course mates. This exercise must last NOT MORE THAN THIRTY Minutes using 9th grade of middle school textbook activity book. or they are going to watch some videos . They observe and provide reflective feedback.

This exercise must be recorded or video recorded. The participating students must critique the teaching, use the checklist (provided) and give their score of the teaching independently, while the average score of the participating students will be recorded. The supervisor should rate the teaching exercise based on the type of teaching method and other components of the teaching, using the same checklist.

Feedback – All students will watch a video on a particular time and have to evaluate and send their feedback. Students discuss their evaluation of the teacher practice and whether or not the objectives of the microteaching session have been met.

Concrete instances of the observed teacher’s good and bad practices should be mentioned, they can review the video together to re-watch certain segments that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the trainee. The team will then give suggestions like how to improve teaching skills or ways to handle different classroom situations. The trainee should also take this time to ask any important questions or to clarify a number of points given by the supervisory team.

Feedback Feedback in microteaching is critical for teacher-trainee improvement. It is the information that a student receives concerning his attempts to imitate certain patterns of teaching.
